One time in 1990 a brother from our ministry visiting a Romanian village had converted one U.S. dollar into Romania Lei. This was about 300 Lei. He kindly asked an elderly lady picking potatoes in her garden to sell him a few.

The kind hearted widow went and picked a bag full of Potatoes and gave them to this brother. He handed her the 300Lei. She started to run into the potato patch and pick another bag. When she sprinted back to hand the brother the second bag of Potatoes he asked her "why are you doing this for me? " The lady replied, "This money you gave me is all I have for the whole month! I am so grateful to you." This Christian brother went away from that village bewildered at the kindness and gratefulness this poor widow exhibited from receiving one dollar.
