Helping FamiliesThe question that has been stirring in my heart is the following: Must God allow tragedies like this in order to wake us up? I for one do not know the answer to this question, but I can tell you what I have seen with my own eyes. The Plugaru family's 7 children, are now living, with winter only weeks away, in a makeshift nylon tent, in the middle of a cornfield. This happened because five years ago the father took out a bank loan that he was unable to repay. The job he had been promised never materialized, and each month the interest grew on the $2000 he borrowed. Eventually, the bank came, and took their home, their livestock, and even the few pieces of furniture they'd managed to acquire over the years. This is the reason they are currently living in the middle of a cornfield.

One thing that is worthy of noting, is that this family didn't go begging, but with their own hands began to build a mud brick home, and a barn. The father is worried for his children, and does not know how he will feed his family during these coming months. Although he is a hard working man, as yet, he has been unable to find employment. If we do not help them, this family has no other hope.

"All we need is one room with a roof," the mother of these seven children whispered, almost unable to speak because she is suffering from a chest cold. "We've all gotten sick, and its getting very cold during the night," she added.

Is there anything we can do for the Plugaru family? I believe there is, but we must allow God to speak to our hearts, and be obedient to His voice.
